Premium Underfloor Heating & Acoustic Mitigation Solution
The Challenge:
The comprehensive refurbishment of Centre Point—a 36-storey Grade-II listed tower—required transforming former commercial office space into 82 luxury apartments and high-end penthouses. Architectural planning prioritized the resident experience by centralizing service corridors to maximize living areas and capitalize on the London skyline. Consequently, the project needed to satisfy stringent acoustic and thermal requirements essential for a premium high-rise development.
The Solution:
To address these complex requirements, MCW delivered a comprehensive, integrated flooring solution spanning approximately 12,700m2. The installation utilized MCW ScreedPro dry screed panels, chosen for their exceptional thermal conductivity and monolithic stability when fitted over underfloor heating trays. To robustly mitigate impact sound transmission, MCW Impact R5 was implemented as a high-performance impact reduction mat.
The Result:
The integrated solution successfully secured optimal energy efficiency through the combination of MCW ScreedPro boards and the underfloor heating infrastructure. Furthermore, the system provided superior acoustic isolation between the luxury residences, maintaining both the structural integrity and the strict acoustic standards required for the development.
