The BSKYB TV Meeting Centre required an effective acoustic treatment beneath its central staircase and within several meeting rooms. The solution needed to improve sound absorption while complementing the building’s contemporary interior design.

Project Overview:

Soundis was appointed to install MCW Fabric Panels beneath the central staircase and within meeting rooms throughout the BSKYB TV Meeting Centre.

The panels were positioned to absorb reflected sound, control reverberation and improve speech clarity within the meeting and circulation areas. Their fabric finish also allowed the acoustic treatment to become a coordinated part of the interior rather than appearing purely functional.

The Challenge:

The project presented several technical and logistical challenges. Installation beneath the central staircase required the panels to work around its shape and surrounding construction details.

The installation also had to be coordinated carefully with mechanical and electrical services. Critical interfaces between the acoustic panels, lighting, ventilation and other services needed to be resolved without compromising the appearance or acoustic performance of the completed areas.

All work was delivered within a demanding construction programme and alongside other trades operating on site.

The Solution:
